Glenrothes House Demolition has begun!

On Monday 30th January 2012 the planned development works at the Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes took a major step forward as builders moved in to begin the demolition of the Glenrothes House office block.

Central Demolition Ltd has been instructed on behalf of centre owners CIS Ltd to undertake the demolition works which are expected to take around 6 months to complete. Due to the nature of the building and its location in close proximity to other premises the office block will not be imploded. Instead the work force will begin by stripping out the inside of the building followed by machine demolition and deconstruction of the exterior.

The perimeter of the building site will be safely enclosed while still allowing public access to the Falkland Gate entrance of the centre via a protected covered walkway. North Street will also remain open and parking at the car park adjacent to Glenrothes House will still be available.

The demolition of Glenrothes House is a key step in the redevelopment of the Kingdom Shopping Centre and Town Centre in Glenrothes, with plans to create a new Tesco supermarket and a new improved entrance to the shopping mall.

Kingdom Centre management will be issuing regular updates relating to the demolition works. Weigh in's take place at the Kingdom Shopping Centre on Tuesday's between 8-10am.

Plus due to popular demand they will now be offering a mini weigh-in at the Kingdom Shopping Centre on Thursday's  between 4.30-6.30pm.

Kids! You can now meet Kingsley our lion mascot in the mall every Sunday from 12-2pm. Plus, there will be free face painting and free balloon modelling every week too! Just visit the information desk in Falkland Square, Sundays 12-2pm.
